Once we arrived at Ogilvie Train Station, we headed towards Michigan Ave., making a pitstop at Garrett's for some cheddar and caramel popcorn mix. It was very tasty, but we did forget to ask for napkins.

We walked all the way down Michigan Ave. We saw the Magnificent Mile, which is loaded with shopping. Clare took pictures of all the brand names she holds so dear.
We found a sushi restaurant on the 6th floor of a vertical mall and could not pass up lunch there. It was very tasty.
So after we had lunch, we decided to head back to catch the train, because the train back home only departs every 2 hours. Now, I do not really know how to get around Chicago too well. I wasn't sure how to use the other train system that loops through Chicago, so we all hoofed it back to Ogilvie. Only I don't think any of us realized just how far we had walked to get where we were OR how long it was going to take to get back.
Consequently, after POWER walking for a good 45 minutes, we plow into the train station only to be told by the conductor that we had missed it by, oh, about 30 seconds.
Never to be discouraged, we decided to reward our hard work in hauling butt by getting dessert.

The caption was Jaime's idea.
The day after Memorial Day was celebrated by making 10+ dozen pierogies. And after a day of cooking, we certainly didn't feel like making dinner, so, courtesy of mom aka Grammy, we went out to eat at Brio, one of our favorite restaurants in the Rockford area. You can check them out HERE
Here is a slideshow of our family visit, in case you just can't get enough of looking at us! Ha ha!
Have a great day and thanks for looking!
