Brrrrrrr! aka Why We Can't Feel Our Toes

This is what we woke up to. This is the kind of weather that inspires people (meaning ME) to become hermits. This is the kind of weather that makes one consider the benefits of on-line grocery shopping and work-from-home job offers. This is the kind of weather that makes one not only understand but envy the woman who sat on her couch so long, she became part of it.

Saturday morning Adam, Zeke and I took Reggie to the Forest Preserve for a good, long walk. We took him off leash in the back and let him run through the open area. It is truly a wonder of nature to watch our 140 lb. beast gallop towards you at full force.

In the meantime, Zeke and I got into a snowball fight and Reggie decided to tromp off into the brush hunting some smell. We called and called, chased and walked after. He stayed in sight but did not come back to our sides. Two other trail walkers arrived, braving the elements and, hearing our plight, decided to call Reggie also. Immediately after the words came out of their mouths, he bounded up to them and parked at their sides. We needed strangers to come rescue our Rescue Dog. And yes, recall is one thing we will be working A LOT more on.

Winter Snow & Christmas Parade

Saturday night we went to the annual Rockton Christmas Parade. We managed to stay for the entire duration but just barely. Our extremeties were COLD! We took some video - when we could feel our fingers - and pictures. It was dark and our camera is cheap, so the quality is not great, but it gives you the idea.

Here are some cheerleaders dancing through the parade. Their hats lit up, which is the neatest thing!

And some other various video of floats and music:
